A venture designed by Marushin to seperate them selves from the rest of the airsoft producers. the bb being 2 mm's wider requires more fuel to eject the round out of the barrel along with the cost of a slow speed but the advantage of the round not being interrupted by tree brush as it travels and a confirmed hit on a enemy player if struck.
Body armor load carriage system- body armor subsystem of the SPEAR system. BALCS features an armor vest, that carries BALCS-cut soft armor, and two armor plates, one in the front, and one in the rear. The BALCS vest comes in two versions. There is a SF model (commonly used by U.S. Army special forces), that has three vertical rows of MOLLE/PALS webbing, and ALICE attachment point on the bottom. The other version, is the ranger version (used by the U.S. Army Rangers), that has a traditional MOLLE/PALS webbing on the front, rather than that of the SF version. BALCS vests were made by Ceradyne, and are no longer in production. They were replaced by the Eagle Industries CIRAS vest.
A military rucksack/backpack used by the British Army. The name comes from the town in Norway where it originated. It can hold 120 litres and is issued in two forms, long back and short back. Most infantry prefer the short back due to better integration with the issued webbing (PLCE).
A Bull Pup is a design where the gearbox, magazine, and hop-up is moved towards the rear of the gun to allow a longer barrel to fit in a shorter gun. Examples of the Bull Pup design are: P90, FN2000, L85, Styer AUG, and the FAMAS.
equipment load carriage system- load bearing subsystem of the SPEAR system. ELCS features a load bearing vest, that can be converted into a H-harness, as well as an assortment of pouches. ELCS was made by Safariland, and is no longer in production.
The only modern external air powered manufacturer to date. the company was founded by none other then Mr. Tawada a.k.a. mr. escort. boasting having the strongest recoil of any manufactured guns along with accepting electric gun magazines, escort does custom made guns which will cost no less then 4 figures and 6 months of custom work. escort has also produced a PDW tool for personal protection inside of japan.
Full Spectrum Battle Equipment- a armor vest made by Point Blank, for the USMC Recon. The FSBE was adopted by Force Recon in 2000. It accommodates level IIIA soft armor, and front and rear ceramic armor plates. More recent versions of this vest, have a quick release system, that is activated buy pulling a release loop, on the bottom front of the vest. The FSBE was mainly used by the USMC Recon, however, some Army units did use it. The FSBE is no longer issued, and was replaced by the Eagle Industries CIRAS.
Guay Guay Gunshop-High end AEG manufacturer from Taiwan. Known for their excellent AK series of weapons and their UMP replica. Also make a line of M series weapons, Mp5 series and M14s. M14s are known for various issues but have improved in later runs. New series of M rifles are supposed to be of excellent quality. MP5s are reportedly very nice as well, although they are not common.
Also manufactures accesories for GBB pistols including metal slides and frames.
The First battle rifle of the german firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch G3 which was prototyped during when the current founders did work for the CETME firearms company. the early run of the G3 came with factory wood which was quickly replaced with poly synthetic material the founding members of H&K were former Mauser designers.
The Gearbox is the "powerhouse" of the AEG and is, by far, the most complicated part. The gearbox holds almost all of the components that make an airsoft gun function. This includes the gears, piston, tappet plate, spring and spring guide. There are different kinds of gearboxes.
Version 1 - The first gearbox made and only found on the Tokyo Marui FA-MAS. Therefore it is rare that you find upgrade parts for the V1
Version 2 - The version 2 gearbox is a widely used gearbox. It can be found in M16's, M4's and MP-5's. There are many ways you can upgrade the V2, and are easy to find.
Version 3 - The version 3 gearbox is a very reliable and durable gearbox. It is very easy to upgrade and can take loads of abuse. The motor is attached to the gearbox so it is easy to align the motor. The Version 3 gearbox can be found in AK-47 or any AK variant, G36's, AUG's, and MP-5K's
Version 4 - The version 4 gearbox is only used in the Tokyo Marui PSG-1. It has a spring tension release and an anti-reversal latch release.
Version 5 - This gearbox is only found in the UZI. It is not a very good gearbox. There are a lot of plastic components, adn is almost impossible to upgrade or repair.
Version 6 - The version 6 gearbox is found in the P90 and the Thompson M1A1. There are not very many upgrade parts for the V6, but the P90's popularity is growing. Therefore manufactures are making more upgrade parts available.
The gearbox [a.k.a. mechbox(slang)] is the most advanced and cumbersome AEG section. Opening the gearbox without knowledge can lead to serious problems with your gun.
a fuel source for a classic gun which is just breathable air. its tanks are generally much larger then c02 as its still a gas when compared compared to c02 which is stored as a liquid when compressed. HPA allows a classic gun user to perform normal operation at any temperature but at the cost of having far less volume then c02. HPA tanks are best for non long trigger pull guns. has as sniper rifles and Direct marksmen rifles.
Interceptor body armor- the current standard issue body armor of the U.S. military and was first manufactured in 1998, by Point Blank. the IBA consists of a nylon carrier (OTV), level IIIA, and two ceramic armor plates, one in the front, and one in the rear. The IBA comes in woodland, ACU, DCU, and coyote brown patterns.
A low-cap or "Low Capacity" magazine has a spring that pushes a short line of bbs into the gun. A low-cap magazine will usually hold between thirty and fifty rounds. They are usually the same capacity as their real steel counterparts. Normally around 30 BB's.
Long Range Barrel. Invented by classic gun manufacturer Sheriff. the concept is a mathematically correct slope inside of the barrel based on length of the barrel to create a fixed hopup effect thus projecting the bb at the furthest possible distance for its given length.
A mid-cap or "Middle Capacity" magazine has a spring that pushes a line of bbs into the gun; similar to the low-cap except that it has a longer spring and can hold more. A mid-cap magazine will usually hold between sixty and one hundred rounds.
Ranger body armor- the first modern body armor issued by the U.S. military, that began use in the earlier 1990s. the RBA consists of level IIIA soft armor, and hard armor plates. Earlier versions only had a front plate pocket, while later versions had a front and back plate pocket. The RBA is rather heavy compared to other modern armor vests. It has a wrap-around cummerbund design. It was made by Protective materials company, and is no longer in production. However, Supreme Protector did manufacture their own version, that was saw use by the airforce. The RBA is what the Army Ranger used during Operation Gothic Serpant, and in the movie "Blackhawk Down".
a early airsoft manufacturer based in Osaka, Japan. they currently produced alloy slides for Western Arms. they also have credit with their "dangerous AK' series which used the FTC AK magazines along with the very rare Highlander Magnum limited run series which were made nearly all by hand.
The primary moving section of any automatic gun; most people think of the 'slide' as the top half of a semi-automatic pistol like the M9. This is correct, but the slide can also be the bolt, hidden inside a gun, seen most often with assault rifles.
Special operations forces personal equipment advanced requirements. Consists of there parts-ELCS (equipment load carriage system-see "ELCS"), BALCS (body armor load carriage system-see "BALCS"), and a back pack subsystem consisting of a Main rucksack, Patrol Pack, and a Butt-pack (see UM-21 rucksack system).
Tanio Kobayashi, inventor of many gas systems and worked for classic gun manufacturer MGC. credited with the birth of the airsoft 10/22 and the concept of the airsoft barrel twisting which looks similar to rifling to replace the traditional hopup method.
Part of the Gearbox, the tappet plate attaches to the air nozzle. It looks like a long black piece of plastic that has an "arm" near the backside of it and a small spring. A common problem of misfeeds when it breaks or moves.
rucksack subsystem of the SPEAR system. features a main pack, patrol pack, and a butt-pack. The components were made in woodland camo, and DCU camo, however, a limited number were manufactured in black. The UM-21 rucksack system was made by Gregory, and is no longer in production.
